Botic van de Zandschulp, the Dutch tennis player ranked 62nd in the world, showcased an impressive performance as he secured his place in the semifinals of the Tiriac Open held in Bucharest, Romania. He achieved a straight-sets victory over Bosnian opponent Damir Dzumhur, winning with a score of 6-3, 6-3.
Van de Zandschulp’s journey to the semifinals was marked by a series of commanding performances, where he successfully navigated his way through the previous rounds without dropping a single set. His quarterfinal match against Dzumhur was set up after he defeated competitors Francesco Maestrelli and Alexander Shevchenko in earlier stages of the tournament. Dzumhur, ranked 74th in the world, had also shown determination in his path to the quarterfinals, defeating Filipino player Filip Cristian Jianu and Portuguese competitor Nuno Borges.
