Former Arsenal & Wales Star Aaron Ramsey Announces His Retirement

In a heartfelt announcement, Aaron Ramsey, the former captain of the Wales national football team, has decided to retire from professional football at the age of 35. This decision comes after a career that began in 2006 when he debuted with Cardiff City, and has since seen him play for elite clubs such as Arsenal, Juventus, and Nice.

Ramsey’s journey through professional football also included a return to Cardiff from 2023 to 2025. However, his final professional match was with Pumas UNAM in Mexico, a tenure that concluded with the termination of his contract last year.

Reflecting on his decision to retire, Ramsey stated, “This has not been an easy decision to make. After a lot of consideration, I have decided to retire from football.” He expressed gratitude for the opportunities he had while representing Wales, having earned an impressive 86 caps and scored 21 goals since his international debut in 2008.

“It has been my privilege to wear the Welsh shirt and experience so many incredible moments in it. It would not have been possible without the incredible input of all the managers I have played under and all the staff who have helped me in many ways,” he added, emphasizing the support he received throughout his career.
