Big Blow for Midtjylland in Race for Title as Attacking Aces Could Miss Rest of Season
In a critical moment for FC Midtjylland, coach Mike Tullberg revealed that two of his essential players, Phillip Billing and Junior Brumado, may not return to the field for the remainder of the season. This alarming news comes as the club faces increasing pressure in the race for the Danish Superliga title.
Phillip Billing, a key midfielder, has been sidelined due to persistent issues with his Achilles tendon. Coach Tullberg stated in an interview with Viaplay that the 29-year-old is unlikely to make a comeback in the next few weeks. Similarly, Junior Brumado is battling his own injury woes, having missed the latest match against Sonderjyske, further depleting the team’s attacking options.
Tullberg expressed his concern regarding the availability of both players, stating, “It is definitely a possibility that they will be out for the rest of the season. I am neither a doctor nor a physiotherapist, but as long as we do not announce anything actively, it is because they are not available.” He added, “Then we’ll see if our doctors can work some magic, but right now it doesn’t look like they’re available.”
As the season nears its conclusion, there are only seven matches left in the Danish Superliga, and FC Midtjylland finds itself trailing seven points behind the league leaders, AGF. The absence of Billing and Brumado may prove to be a significant setback for the team’s championship aspirations.
