BOURNEMOUTH SIGNS ALVARO RODRIGUEZ IN £25.7M DEAL FROM ELCHE

Bournemouth has successfully secured the services of Uruguayan international Alvaro Rodriguez from Spanish club Elche, finalizing a long-term contract reportedly valued at £25.7 million. The 22-year-old forward arrives at the Vitality Stadium following a standout performance during the 2025/26 season in LaLiga, where he netted seven goals and provided five assists across 34 appearances, showcasing his talent with notable strikes against football giants Real Madrid and Barcelona.

Rodriguez’s football journey began in the youth academies of Girona and Real Madrid. He made his professional debut in 2023 under the management of Carlo Ancelotti. Following stints at Getafe and Elche, he now joins Bournemouth with the goal of bolstering the club’s attacking options as they prepare for their inaugural Europa League campaign, guided by new manager Marco Rose.

Expressing his enthusiasm for the move, Rodriguez stated, “It feels like a great privilege to be here. I’ve always wanted to play in the Premier League, and now, on my birthday, that dream has become reality.” He further added, “It has been a dream since I was a child. When my agent told me Bournemouth were interested, I couldn’t believe it.” Rodriguez is eager to embrace this new chapter in his career, focusing on continuous improvement and proving his worth on the pitch.
