At just 21 years and 10 months old, Daniel Merida has made history by becoming the third-youngest champion in the history of this Croatian tournament. He joins the ranks of prominent figures like Carlos Alcaraz, who won at the age of 18 years and 2 months, and Jannik Sinner, the current world number one, who achieved victory at 20 years and 10 months.

Expressing his elation post-match, Merida reflected on the significance of sharing this achievement with “two of the best guys in the world,” implying the notable presence of Alcaraz and Sinner in the sport.
