Ajax Announces Signing of Tolu Arokodare on Loan from Wolves
Ajax has officially secured striker Tolu Arokodare on a season-long loan from Wolves, as revealed by the Dutch club on Wednesday. This arrangement allows Ajax the option to purchase the 25-year-old Nigerian international at the conclusion of the season.
Arokodare has an extensive career across several European leagues, having played in Latvia, Germany, and Belgium. His noteworthy performance as the top scorer during the 2024-25 season in Belgium eventually led to his transfer from Racing Genk to Wolves.
Last season, although primarily coming off the bench for Wolves amidst their relegation from the Premier League, Arokodare managed to net six goals across both league and cup competitions.
As Ajax kicks off their new season in the Conference League, they are set to host Vojvodina for the second leg of the second qualifying round in Amsterdam on Thursday, holding a significant 4-1 lead from the first match played in Serbia last week.
This strategic signing could significantly impact Ajax’s campaign as they look to solidify their performance in both domestic and international competitions.
