Algeria Dismisses Coach Vladimir Petkovic Following World Cup Exit
In a significant turn of events, Algeria has officially ended its association with head coach Vladimir Petkovic on a mutual agreement, just months after he signed a contract extension. The announcement comes after the national team’s participation in the World Cup, where they unfortunately reached only the last 32, ultimately falling short in their campaign.
Petkovic, a 62-year-old coach originally from Bosnia, had taken over managerial duties in February 2024. Before the World Cup, he renewed his contract, committing to lead the team until 2028.
