In a concerning turn of events ahead of the World Cup, the mayor of Kansas City, Quinton Lucas, announced that local, state, and federal authorities are actively investigating the theft of essential equipment belonging to the England national football team. This equipment was reportedly stolen as it was being transported to the team’s training facility, Swope Soccer Village, in Kansas City.
The theft, which reportedly included footballs and boots, occurred during the journey from Florida to Kansas City. According to a statement released by Mayor Lucas on social media platform X, the items were taken from the transport vehicle designated for the English team.
Lucas outlined in his statement, “Officials in Kansas City discovered that sometime during the transport of the English national team’s gear from Florida to their training facility in Kansas City, items were stolen.” He further mentioned that public safety officials across all levels of government are collaborating to trace the whereabouts of the stolen items and identify any individuals involved in the incident.
