The inquiry has spanned 11 months and was initially prompted by allegations that Leonard may have received payments through various sponsors associated with the Clippers. While early reports hinted at possible financial dealings between Ballmer and at least three companies connected to Leonard, the NBA has clarified that there was no substantiated proof of money being funneled to Leonard from these sources.
