Georgia Stanway Joins Arsenal After Leaving Bayern Munich
In a significant move within women’s football, Georgia Stanway has officially signed with Arsenal, returning to England after an impressive tenure at Bayern Munich. The English club announced on Friday that Stanway, a talented midfielder, has completed a free transfer following her four-year stay with the German side.
During her time at Bayern Munich, Stanway achieved remarkable success, securing four Bundesliga titles, along with two German Cups and two German Super Cups. Over the course of 128 appearances for the club, she found the back of the net 32 times, showcasing her offensive skills on the pitch.
The 27-year-old English international made her way to Bayern from Manchester City in 2022, where she had spent seven seasons. At City, she totaled 186 appearances and scored 67 goals, winning one Women’s Super League title, three FA Cups, and three League Cups along the way.
Expressing her excitement about the move, Stanway stated, “It’s an unbelievable feeling and I’m so proud to be joining Arsenal. This is a massive club that is driving the women’s game forward to new levels, and I want to be a part of it.”
Last season, Arsenal finished in second place, just four points behind their rivals, Manchester City, highlighting the competitive nature of the Women’s Super League and the aspirations Stanway has in continuing to elevate her game at Arsenal.
