Manchester United Secures Carlos Baleba’s Services
In a significant move that highlights their ambition for the upcoming season, Manchester United has officially announced the acquisition of Carlos Baleba from Brighton & Hove Albion. The transfer, reported at £70 million, includes a guaranteed fee of £65 million along with potential add-ons amounting to £5 million.
Baleba, an international midfielder from Cameroon, has put pen to paper on a five-year contract, further strengthening United’s midfield where he will join fellow summer signings, Youri Tielemans and Andrey Santos. Expressing his enthusiasm, Baleba remarked, “It is an incredible feeling to join the club of my dreams. Before his transfer, Baleba had spent one season at Brighton after signing from Lille in 2023. During his tenure with the Seagulls, he made a total of 112 appearances, demonstrating his solid performance across competitions. Last season, Baleba played in 31 Premier League matches, starting in 23 of them, solidifying his reputation as a reliable midfielder.
Currently, he is on the road to recovery from an ankle ligament injury that sidelined him at the beginning of the current campaign.
