Galatasaray’s Noa Lang to Undergo Surgery After Freak Thumb Injury at Liverpool

Galatasaray midfielder Noa Lang is set to undergo surgery on his right thumb following a serious injury sustained during a collision with the advertising hoardings in the Champions League match against Liverpool, which ended in a 4-0 defeat for the Turkish club. This incident occurred on Wednesday, leaving the 26-year-old in visible pain as he clutched his injured hand while blood flowed from the wound. Lang was subsequently taken off the field on a stretcher and transported to the hospital for medical treatment.

In addition to Lang’s unfortunate injury, Galatasaray has confirmed that striker Victor Osimhen also faced a setback, suffering a fracture to his right forearm during the first half of the same match. The club announced on Thursday that a decision regarding Osimhen’s potential need for surgery will be made in the coming days, as medical evaluations continue.

Despite the injuries sustained by their team members, Liverpool managed to advance to the Champions League quarter-finals, achieving a 4-1 aggregate victory over Galatasaray.
