Saints Defensive Tackle Bryan Bresee Out for 2026 Season Due to Torn ACL
The New Orleans Saints have officially announced that their defensive tackle, Bryan Bresee, will miss the entire 2026 season following a confirmed torn ACL. The announcement came on Sunday, shedding light on a significant injury concern for the team.
Bresee, who is 24 years old, encountered this injury during practice on Wednesday. After leaving the field for testing, it was revealed that he had sustained a serious ligament injury. The team had initially thought he might have torn his ACL, which was subsequently validated through medical assessments.
This is not Bresee’s first encounter with an ACL injury; he previously tore the same ligament in his left knee back in 2021. Throughout his three-year tenure with the Saints, he has managed to remain relatively healthy, playing in a majority of games since his selection as the 29th overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.
During the most recent season, Bryan Bresee showcased his skills, finishing with an impressive tally of 37 tackles, alongside eight quarterback hits, five tackles for loss, three pass deflections, and a noteworthy 2.5 sacks over the course of 15 games.
The loss of Bresee is a significant blow to the Saints’ defensive lineup, as they now have to strategize without one of their key players for the upcoming season.
