Benjamin Sesko Endorses Michael Carrick for Permanent Manchester United Role

In a passionate endorsement, Manchester United’s forward Benjamin Sesko has voiced strong support for interim head coach Michael Carrick to be appointed on a permanent basis. This comes after Carrick has played a pivotal role in guiding the club close to Champions League qualification.

Following United’s impressive 2-1 victory at home against Brentford, which positioned them third in the Premier League, the team now finds itself 11 points ahead of sixth-place Brighton & Hove Albion with only four matches remaining in the season.

With the Premier League’s top five teams earning spots in the following season’s Champions League, Manchester United is just two points shy of securing their return to Europe’s premier football competition after a two-year hiatus.

Striker Sesko, who recently netted his 10th league goal of the season in the match against Brentford, praised Carrick’s coaching abilities, stating, “He’s an amazing coach, I’ve said this many times. He’s brought different energy to the team. The way we practice in training is incredible, and of course, I would love to have him here permanently.”

Since taking over as interim coach in January after Ruben Amorim’s departure, Carrick has garnered public support from multiple players within the squad, including Amad Diallo and Bryan Mbeumo, further indicating the team’s confidence in his leadership.

Additionally, Brazilian midfielder Casemiro, who has made significant contributions this season with nine goals in the Premier League—including the opening goal against Brentford—has been highlighted by Sesko as an invaluable asset. “He’s a working machine,” Sesko remarked, praising Casemiro’s remarkable performances. “What he brings to the pitch is unbelievable. You need someone like him in the squad.”

Looking ahead, Manchester United is set to face their fierce rivals Liverpool in the Premier League this coming Sunday, a match that could further impact their Champions League aspirations.
