Tiger Woods Arrested on DUI Charge Following Rollover Crash in Florida

Tiger Woods, the renowned golfer, has been arrested following an incident where his Land Rover rolled over on a two-lane road not far from his residence in Jupiter Island, Florida. The arrest, made by the Martin County Sheriff’s Office, was classified under the charge of driving under the influence.

Details of the Incident

At the time of the arrest on Friday, authorities noted that Woods, aged 50, exhibited signs of impairment. Despite this, he declined to take a urine test while at the jail facility. A breathalyzer test conducted revealed no presence of alcohol, leading investigators to suspect that his impaired state was likely related to drugs or medication.

Previous Car Crash and Injury History

No injuries occurred during this recent incident. It is worth mentioning that Woods was involved in a serious car crash back in February 2021, which resulted in him suffering severe fractures to his right leg. This accident underscored a more extensive history of injuries that Woods has faced over the span of two decades. His medical history is marked by numerous back surgeries, including microdiscectomies, an ACL reconstruction, ruptured Achilles tendons, various spinal procedures, and ongoing chronic issues with his left knee, all of which have significantly hindered his capacity to compete in golf tournaments in recent years.

Return to Golfing Competitions

Recently, Woods had only just made his return to competitive golf, having participated in a TGL Finals match at his home course, Jupiter Links Golf Club, earlier this week. This marked his first competitive outing since he missed the cut at the British Open in 2024. As the golf community awaits updates, it remains uncertain whether Woods will tee off at this year’s Masters Tournament, which is set to commence on April 9 in Augusta.
