Newcastle’s Tino Livramento Undergoes Minor Surgery, Aims for Pre-Season Return
Newcastle United has confirmed that defender Tino Livramento has successfully undergone a minor surgical procedure following a calf injury sustained during training with the England squad in June. The 23-year-old, who missed out on representing his nation in the World Cup, is expected to be fit for the pre-season.
Livramento had to withdraw from the England squad due to his injury, leading to Chelsea’s Trevoh Chalobah taking his place in the lineup. The club expressed optimism regarding his recovery, stating that he is anticipated to return to the field during pre-season preparations.
In his tenure at Newcastle, Livramento has faced challenges, featuring in only 17 Premier League matches due to a series of injuries, including two knee injuries that sidelined him for an extended period, along with a hamstring injury that kept him out for 15 matches earlier this year.
Newcastle United’s first match of the 2026-27 Premier League season is set against Liverpool on August 23, marking an important date in Livramento’s potential return to competitive action.
