Wizards Acquire Khris Middleton in Complex Six-Team Trade

The Washington Wizards have officially added Khris Middleton to their roster, completing a complex six-team trade that took place on Tuesday. This significant move marks a turning point for Middleton, who previously played for the Dallas Mavericks.

In exchange for Middleton, the Wizards have agreed to send De’Angelo Russell, along with a future second-round draft pick and a second-round pick swap, to the Memphis Grizzlies. This multifaceted trade also includes the Milwaukee Bucks and the Detroit Pistons, stemming from an earlier deal where Caris LeVert was traded to Milwaukee.

Khris Middleton, who is now 34 years old, has signed a three-year contract worth $17.6 million as part of the sign-and-trade agreement. He spent the initial part of the last season with the Wizards before being traded to the Dallas Mavericks. With 15 years of experience in the league, Middleton first joined the Wizards during the 2024-2025 season in a trade from the Milwaukee Bucks, where he played an essential role in capturing the championship in 2021.

Last season, Middleton concluded with averages of 10.2 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game. After beginning his career with the Detroit Pistons, he dedicated over 11 years to the Bucks, earning three All-Star selections during his tenure. His skills and experience are expected to be instrumental as he embarks on his journey with the Wizards.
