MARC MARQUEZ CONTINUES DOMINANCE AT SACHSENRING WITH SPRINT VICTORY

In a remarkable display of skill, Marc Marquez solidified his dominance at the Sachsenring during a thrilling MotoGP sprint race. Following a record-setting lap that secured him pole position, Marquez successfully led the 15-lap race, clinching victory by a margin of 0.368 seconds ahead of his younger brother, Alex Marquez, who could not mount a serious challenge for the lead.

This win marked Marc Marquez’s historic 19th sprint victory in MotoGP, which has enabled him to reduce the points deficit to championship leader Jorge Martin to 32 points. Known for his unmatched prowess at Sachsenring, where he has celebrated 12 wins across all classes, Marquez demonstrated resilience following a disappointing performance at Assen the previous month.

“Alex was pushing quite hard. He was very close. He tried to keep a constant pace, but in the last lap, he almost caught me. We will see how tomorrow goes,” remarked Marc Marquez, reflecting on the competitive nature of the race.

Completing a strong showing for Ducati, VR46 Racing’s Fabio Di Giannantonio finished third, successfully resisting the pressure from Ai Ogura of Trackhouse Racing, who took fourth place. Raúl Fernández, Ogura’s teammate, rounded out the top five. Di Giannantonio expressed satisfaction with his performance, emphasizing the importance of maximizing points: “It was vital for us to get as many points as possible today. Every point counts.”

Unfortunately, Marco Bezzecchi of Aprilia was ruled out for the rest of the weekend due to a broken collarbone sustained in a qualifying crash and will return to Italy for surgery. Championship leader Martin placed sixth, maintaining an 11-point advantage over his teammate despite not finishing among the top performers in this race.

Ducati’s Francesco Bagnaia demonstrated impressive recovery from a starting position of 11th on the grid to finish in seventh place, while KTM’s Pedro Acosta secured an eighth-place finish. The race not only showcased Marquez’s extraordinary talent but also set the stage for further excitement as the championship unfolds.
