Fiorentina Completes Loan Signing of Alex Jimenez from Bournemouth

Fiorentina has officially announced the acquisition of 21-year-old Spanish right-back Alex Jimenez from Bournemouth on a season-long loan, which includes an option for a permanent transfer, as stated by the Serie A club on Thursday.

During the last season, Jimenez made a total of 32 appearances across all competitions for Bournemouth. However, he found himself out of favor in May, when the Premier League club decided to exclude him from their squad while undertaking an investigation into some social media posts associated with him.

Despite an inquiry initiated by Bournemouth regarding these posts, there were no additional details provided, and Jimenez has yet to respond to requests for comments relayed through his representatives at that time.

Fiorentina has not disclosed the specific financial aspects of the deal, but reports from both Italian and British media suggest that the buy option is valued at approximately 20 million euros ($22.88 million).

In an official statement, ACF Fiorentina confirmed, “We have signed Alejandro Jimenez Sanchez on a loan basis, with an option to buy from AFC Bournemouth.” Jimenez had previously moved to Bournemouth from AC Milan in February following an initial loan period and went on to make 31 appearances in the Premier League last season, managing to score one goal.

Before his time at Bournemouth, Jimenez was developed in the youth academy of Real Madrid, subsequently transferring to AC Milan in 2023, paving his way to Bournemouth where he solidified his position as a key player in the first team.
