Franculino Returns to Action After Injury Setback

Guinea-Bissau international striker Franculino Dju has made a noteworthy comeback for FC Midtjylland, stepping onto the pitch for the first time since sustaining an injury during a Danish Superliga match against Viborg back in December of last year. His return came in a friendly match against Silkeborg, where he played for 30 minutes.

Coach’s Impressions of Franculino’s Performance

Following the match, head coach Mike Tullberg expressed his satisfaction with Franculino’s performance. “Seeing Francu back on the field after four months was fantastic. While he isn’t quite at the level he was before his injury, I was pleasantly surprised to see how far along he is in his recovery. He was involved in two or three key scoring opportunities, which bodes well for his game,” Tullberg remarked in an interview with bold.dk.

Career Overview

Since joining FC Midtjylland in the summer of 2023, Franculino has accumulated 72 appearances in the Danish Superliga, during which he has found the back of the net 38 times. With such a strong record, he has set his sights even higher, aiming to increase his scoring tally this season.

Aspirations for the Upcoming Matches

“I always aim to score goals, and I have set my sights on reaching 100 this season,” Franculino stated during an interview with TV2 Sport. He humorously added, “I’ll be saving my goals for Saturday’s game, provided I get 45 minutes on the field.”

Upcoming Challenges

Looking ahead, Franculino is expected to take a place on the bench when FC Midtjylland faces Sonderjyske in a pivotal match that could prove crucial in their competitive chase for the Danish title against AGF. The team aims to leverage his talent and experience as they approach this important phase of the season.
