MANCHESTER CITY TO FACE SOUTHAMPTON IN FA CUP SEMI-FINALS, CHELSEA DRAWN WITH LEEDS

In an exciting turn of events during the FA Cup, Manchester City has secured a spot against Southampton in the semi-finals, while Chelsea will meet Leeds. The matches are set to take place at the iconic Wembley Stadium on the 25th and 26th of April.

Leeds United demonstrated their resilience by holding their composure during a tense quarter-final match against West Ham. After establishing a comfortable 2-0 lead, they faced a challenging moment when West Ham equalized, forcing the game into extra time. Ultimately, Leeds triumphed in the penalty shootout, earning their place in the semi-finals against Chelsea.

Meanwhile, Southampton’s journey to the semi-finals was marked by a noteworthy victory over standing league leaders Arsenal. Their successful outing has now pitted them against Manchester City, who showcased a dominant performance by crushing Liverpool 4-0 in their own quarter-final clash.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin, a key player for Everton, expressed his excitement regarding the matches ahead, specifically the showdown against Chelsea. “It’s always going to be a difficult match against Chelsea,” he stated to TNT Sports following the draw. “They are a strong team, but this is the FA Cup, and we’re on our way to Wembley. This is a significant opportunity for me, as I’ve never played at Wembley for my club.” Calvert-Lewin reflected on the tense moments during the Leeds match, admitting, “When it reached 2-2, I thought maybe it wasn’t meant to be, but thankfully, we persevered and achieved the victory.”
