RB Leipzig Re-signs Orjan Nyland Until 2028
RB Leipzig has officially re-signed Norwegian goalkeeper Orjan Nyland on a contract that extends until 2028, as announced by the Bundesliga club on Tuesday. This transfer marks Nyland’s return to Leipzig after he previously played for the team on loan during the 2022-23 season.
The 35-year-old Nyland comes back as a free agent following the end of his contract with Sevilla, which expired in June. His tenure with Sevilla was filled with challenges, but he showcased his skills on the international stage.
Nyland gained national acclaim for his pivotal performances during Norway’s impressive campaign at the World Cup, where the team reached the quarter-finals. Notably, he made a crucial save against Brazil’s Bruno Guimaraes during a tightly contested match that Norway won 2-1 in the Round of 16.
